Honoring important events through ceremony helps us to remember our connection with our Spirituality and Oneness with all of Creation. Ceremony invites peace into our lives as we embrace each new life experience. The following ceremonies may be performed as a ritual to pay tribute to a special day, or may be included in any of the wedding ceremonies.
Handfasting Ceremony: This Celtic tradition of Handfasting is an ancient commitment ceremony. It is the predecessor to the modern wedding ceremony and is often included in the Spiritual Wedding Ceremony.
Unity Candle Ceremony: This symbolic ceremony has the couple light a single candle representing their willingness to walk life's pathways together as one. This is included in the Traditional Wedding Ceremony.
Sand Ceremony: When a wedding takes place on the beach, this ceremony is a lovely alternative to the Unity Candle Ceremony. The pouring of two different colored sands together is used to symbolize the union of the couple as one and the joining of their individual families and friends.
Rose Ceremony: During this ceremony the couple presents one another with a red rose bud as their first gift as partners; a red rose bud is the symbol of love and the vows they have made to one another.
Blended Family Ceremony: This ceremony is appropriate for the couple who have children they wish to include in their marriage ceremony. Pouring different colored sands together is another way to symbolize the joining of the couple and their individual families together as one blended family. Children love this ceremony which can be included in all wedding ceremonies.
Christening/Baby Naming Ceremony: During this lovely ceremony the newest member is welcomed into the spiritual family with song, prayer, blessing, and a family name. Parents, siblings, grandparents, and Godparents are invited to join in this service.
Memorial/Funeral Ceremony: This beautiful ceremony uniquely honors and fondly remembers the loved one with poetry, music, eulogy, and prayer. The family and friends are encouraged to participate in this sacred service. As they come together to share their loss, they experience the comfort and peace of knowing we are always one in Truth. |
